Winter Activities in Victoria

December was so much fun!
We started off the festive month by decorating gingerbread cookies. Students revealed their inner artist, and sweet tooth. The next week, we expanded to suit all tastes, and had an incredible potluck party; with foods from every country, great music, and a movie on the big screen. Next was The Festival of Trees at the famous Empress Hotel, a holiday tradition; put on to raise money for the Children’s Hospital. It was a great cause, and a student favourite. Next month, we look forward to attending an exciting Royals’ Hockey Game, as well as admiring the fantastic winter displays at the Butchart Gardens. Perhaps we’ll take advantage of their outdoor skating rink as well!

What’s happening in New York

New York -Students - DecemberThe Holiday season descends upon Manhattan. And lets face it, NYC knows how to do this time of year like no other. Some of the best ways to spend the season are the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, The Nutcracker, and New Years Eve in Times Square.

  1. Radio City Christmas Spectacular:  Come watch New York’s own Rockettes kick up their heels in style for the season!  An all new routine and flying LED screen spice up this year’s performance. See them at Radio City Music Hall, from November 7th-December 30th.
  2. The Nutcracker: Nothing captures the spirit of the season better than this timeless classic of dance. Create a wonderful memory by seeing it at the Koch Theater, November 25th – December 31st.
  3. New Years Eve!: The once in a lifetime ‘gotta do it’ event takes place again in Times Square. Join countless others to watch the glittering descent of the New Year’s Ball and remember forever where you were on December 31st, 2012.
